A simple drink of clean water is luxury to many people in India. Millions of people across the country continue to live with poverty, unhygienic living conditions and without access to clean drinking water. Unclean drinking water is one of the largest threats to life in India. Many villages in rural parts of the country don’t support water supply systems and people therefore have to travel far distances to get water, which often times is not clean.
Think about it! What happens when one person, one family or one child is given the opportunity to access clean water? Their lives are changed forever. It takes one thought, one action, to reach one life in the least.
The Love Joy and Hope Foundation works actively in rural areas providing facilities for clean water and other related facilities. There are many villages in western India which have been identified as impoverished with lack of water supply and amenities.
‘Drops in the Ocean’ entails several projects where bore-wells have been dug and installed in many of these villages, to ensure that access to clean cool water is now made possible and travel to far distances to fetch water is not necessary anymore.
One drop at a time – together, we make up the ocean!
